The Souster Youth team have a number of trained mentors who can work with students to help them achieve their potential. We do this by meeting with students one-to-one for an initially agreed number of weeks to listen to the student and offer support and advice.

Our mentors work with the pastoral staff of the school to support students with a range of different social and emotional needs. Some students are struggling to settle into a larger secondary school environment; others have experienced separation, grief or divorce at home; others are struggling to cope with the stress of exams on the horizon; or sometimes it’s not immediately obvious why a student is struggling.

Our team is also trained to recognise when the intervention of other professional agencies is needed and refer using the school’s own pastoral support system.

If your school would benefit from having our mentors working alongside the pastoral team please do email us at hello@sousteryouth.org. We’d be happy to hear from you.
